CFS raids UBS again

CFS has lured two US-based UBS property analysts into its ranks, after raiding the Swiss bank's Australian operation in 2006.

Colonial First State (CFS) Global Asset Management has added to its global property securities team with the poaching of two US-based UBS analysts.

Senior portfolio manager Barry Oxford and portfolio manager Marc Lederman will be responsible for stock selection and analysis in the North American market.

Oxford and Lederman will report to former UBS staffer and now CFS Global Asset Management head of property John Snowden.

"The appointment of Barry and Marc completes the group's strategy of having senior operatives in each of the core real estate markets," Snowden said.

"With the US currently accounting for around 50 per cent of global real estate investment trust indices, it was important to get experienced and successful candidates for the team."

Oxford and Lederman will also provide input and backup to the CFS London-based European team and to the Asia Pacific team based in Australia.

Current CFS staff Andrew Nicholas and Miranda Moran also joined Snowden from UBS in 2006.

CFS global property securities team manages approximately US$6 billion in segregated and pooled mandates globally.
