Apostle has recruited a Dimensional Fund Advisors regional director.

Institutional portfolio solutions and investment firm Apostle Asset Management has appointed Greg Johnson as director of sales.

Johnson joined the firm from Dimensional Fund Advisors, where he was a regional director.

He also had stints with Perpetual Investments, where he was a vice president, Macquarie Funds Management, where he was an associate director, and Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was a client services manager.

Apostle managing director Karyn West said the equity managers within the Apostle portfolio were experiencing strong interest in international markets.

"As the market upheavals of the GFC (global financial crisis) abate, international institutional investors are once again allocating mandates to equities. The managers within the Apostle portfolio are performing well and it is now time to bring to this performance Australian market," she said.

"Equities are Greg's speciality and we are very pleased to welcome him to the team," West said.

It is the second sales director appointment for Apostle this year.

In January, former Credit Agricole Asset Management chief executive Richard Borysiewicz joined the firm.

Johnson will work alongside Richard Borysiewicz to further expand the institutional client base of Apostle, the firm said.
