LGS hires head of marketing and communications.

Local Government Super (LGS) has appointed Michelle Hopwood as head of marketing and communications.

Hopwood joins from REST Superannuation, where she worked as marketing and communications manager.

"Having recently assumed total control of our front office capabilities, LGS is moving into its next stage of being an independent public offer industry fund," LGS chief executive Peter Lambert said. We've recently launched our new brand and Michelle's skills will be integral to further developing our unique offering," he said.

At REST Superannuation, Hopwood led a range of integrated marketing and communications activities.

She has also held senior marketing roles at Energy Australia and the Commonwealth Bank.

Hopwood started in her new role at LGS last week.
