Van Eyk appoints fund manager analysts

Van Eyk has hired four staff, including two investment analysts.

Research house van Eyk has appointed two equity fund manager analysts and two research associates.

Varun Venkatraman and Nimalan Govender have been appointed as investment analysts, while Alex Dore and Victoria Yates have been recruited as research associates through a graduate program.

Govender has worked for four years as a sell-side analyst at Investec in Johannesburg, South Africa.

New Zealander Venkatraman arrived in Australia in 2007 and started his career as an equity analyst for asset manager IMC Financial Markets & Asset Management before he moved to the sell-side analyst team at Linwar.

 
 

The appointments of Dore and Yates, who join from Sydney University, are the result of a new graduate program van Eyk is currently implementing.

"We are very excited to be employing keen, motivated people at the beginning of their careers. By recruiting on campus at universities, we are able to source quality undergraduate and graduate associates who have strong research skills and are enthusiastic," van Eyk chief executive Mark Thomas said.
