Aii has appointed a head of operations.

Australian Index Investments (Aii) has appointed Paula Boon as its head of operations.

Boon joins from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), where she was a senior analyst within the AQUA and warrants market.

At the ASX she gained experience in establishing and administering exchange-traded funds, warrants and specialised corporate structured products.

"Aii has put in place a management team that gives us the deepest home-grown regulatory and operational knowledge base of index funds in Australia," Aii managing director Jim Socratous said.

Earlier this year, Aii also poached its current chief executive, Annmaree Varelas, and sales and marketing manager Michelle Morgan from the ASX.
