Health Super wins AIST communications award

Health Super has received an AIST award for the most successful communications campaign.

Health Super has won the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) 2010 Platinum Communications Award for Excellence for engaging generation Y in superannuation.

"Engagement has been the big issue in 2010, particularly in relation to young people," AIST chief executive Fiona Reynolds said.

"This is yet another example of creativity and innovation within the not-for-profit sector."

Health Super used a photo booth at university orientation days, expos and seminars to encourage students to tell the fund what they loved about life.

 
 

Students could also submit photos online and all those who entered had the chance to win a range of Apple products.

The campaign attracted 1200 new members to Health Super's Student Club and re-engaged 20 per cent of existing club members.

First State Super won the gold award for embracing new technologies.

The fund has created mobile phone applications for its members, which were downloaded by 1000 members in the first two months.

Silver and bronze winners were AMIST and HESTA Super Fund, which focused on marketing the government's co-contribution scheme.

Late last month, Health Super announced it would merge with First State Super, creating a $28 billion fund.
