CBA hires institutional property head

CBA has hired Peter Barnes to head the property team in its institutional banking division.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) has hired Peter Barnes to head the property team in its institutional banking division.

Barnes previously worked as a managing director for property development firm Cris Australia.

In that job he managed the development management, project management and corporate advisory businesses.

He is on the boards of the Macquarie Goodman Wholesale Fund and Rubicon Asset Management and chair of investment committees at FKP and Charter Hall.

 
 

"Peter brings unique and valuable skills that will allow us to meet our growth aspirations in the property sector," CBA executive general manager Ian Saines said.

The bank's property team has worked on transactions with Fortius Funds Management, Charter Hall Funds, Cbus Property and Allco REIT Singapore.
