London-based investment manager Threadneedle will oversee Allco's mortgage trust.

Investment manager Threadneedle will manage the $900 million Allco Max Securities & Mortgage Trust.

The trust invests in residential mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities and collateralised debt obligations.

The management of the trust will be led by the firm's Australia-based global asset securities team, which includes Steven Fleming and Ashley Burtenshaw.

"Rather than relying on the credit rating of securities, it is becoming essential for our clients to have the ability to effectively quantify, manage and report the risks in their porfolios," Fleming said.

Allco Managed Investment Funds was the previous investment manager of the trust, following the appointment of receivers and administrators to previous investment manager Allco Funds Management in November 2008.
