Industry stalwart set to leave bank to pursue business venture.

Mike Goodall will be leaving ANZ as general manager of financial planning to grow his existing financial planning business, Inpro Australia.

Goodall set up the business in 2003 and now, following a joint venture with a general insurance provider, said it was time to take stock and move on.

Inpro Australia has offices in both Sydney and Melbourne. Goodall's departure is scheduled for the end of September.

Goodall has worked for ANZ for three and a half years. Over this time, the business has grown from 250 to 400 financial planners. Funds under management have increased by more than $5 billion.

Goodall previously ran ING's dealer groups including Millennium 3 and RetireInvest.

"We have started the process to recruit a successor for Mike, with the intention that we have a smooth handover at the end of September," ANZ investments and insurance division head Geoff Cohen said.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank him for his contribution and wish him all the very best as he pursues his next challenge."
