Deloitte has appointed two new partners to its superannuation team, as part of an expansion strategy.

Former Intech Investment Consultant chief executive Michael Monaghan has resurfaced at Deloitte.

Monaghan joins Deloitte to head up its Sydney superannuation practice for actuaries and consultants.

In his new role, Monaghan will advise asset managers on product design and risk return issues.

He will also support audit partners in advising on governance and trustee effectiveness.

"As our Deloitte superannuation practice continues to grow as an Asian hub for pension actuarial work, we look forward to Michael adding his considerable ability to our team," Deloitte partner Matthew Lang said.

As well as Monaghan's hire, Noelle Kelleher has been appointed as a superannuation tax partner and will advise on self managed superannuation funds and high-net-worth individuals.

Kelleher joins Deloitte from Ernst and Young, where she was director of superannuation consulting and taxation.

Kelleher will work out of the Melbourne practice which is led by Deloitte partner Wayne Walker.
