Global asset manager Henderson Global Investors has launched a new fixed interest fund in Australia.

Following the launch of its Henderson Global Equity Fund in November 2013, Henderson has established the Henderson Global Fixed Interest Total Return Fund.

Henderson Australia managing director Rob Adams said the fund will allow asset managers to navigate across fixed interest markets with the ability to take views on interest rates, credit and loans while protecting client capital.

Henderson's head of fixed income, Phil Apel, also said the fund allows managers to find the best fixed interest investments in the world and build strong portfolios for clients.

“[This] approach to fixed interest investing provides a strong and contemporary solution and [we] have successfully utilised this investment style for clients in Europe, the United Kingdom and United States," Mr Apel said.

Henderson’s fixed income team managed $30.9 billion in assets as of 31 March 2014.
