BNP Paribas Investment Partners has established a strategic alliance with Texas-based global equity investment manager Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss.

The alliance means BNP Paribas will be the exclusive distributor of Barrow Hanley’s investment expertise in Australia and New Zealand.

Barrow Hanley provided value-orientated investment strategies to institutional investors, mutual funds, and family offices for the past 35 years.

Barrow Hanley managing director Robert Barkley said the company is delighted to be partnering with BNP Paribas as it will expand the reach of its global value equity offering to Australian and New Zealand investors.

“We trust in their proven capability as a strong distributor of international investment managers and we look forward to working in partnership with them to protect and grow the assets of Australian and New Zealand-based investors in a manner that benefits all participants,” said Mr Barkley.

BNP Paribas chief executive David Grybas said the partnership fits with the company’s objective of “providing Australian and New Zealand investors with the full circle of asset management expertise”.

“We conducted an extensive search to find a global value equity partner who we felt would provide compelling investment opportunities for our clients,” said Mr Grybas.

“Barrow Hanley’s experienced and stable investment team, strong performance culture and disciplined value process convinced us they were a great choice.”
