ANZ overhauls wholesale lending system

As part of its super regional strategy, ANZ has announced it will implement the Misys Loan IQ platform throughout its global lending operations.

A core commercial loan management system will enable ANZ to meet the needs of its commercial, corporate and institutional banking segments for wholesale lending. It will provide better revenue management, reduce operational risk, support regulatory compliance and offer a set of standardised processes, creating a consistent global customer experience.

The Misys solution enables ANZ to consolidate operational processes across both its institutional and commercial lending businesses.

Executive director of transformation projects at ANZ, Andrew Leithhead, said ANZ needed a partner that could support its consolidation initiative in order to fuel its regional growth strategy.

“We selected Misys because of its rich, tried and tested and specialist financial services industry knowledge, rather than developing a system in-house or partnering with other core system vendors in this instance,” said Mr Leithhead.

According to ANZ, Misys was the only software provider to offer a specialist solution that was adequately robust, with a proven track record. As part of the selection process, ANZ contacted a number of Misys’ clients to verify the functionality and reliability of the solution and the quality of the client-vendor relationship.

Paul Spiteri, global sales director for lending at Misys, said he was pleased ANZ had selected Misys as a technology partner.

“It is clear that only Misys was able to provide both the depth and breadth of lending solution required to enable this global growth,” said Mr Spiteri.

“We look forward to developing a strong partnership with ANZ and in sharing in their continued international success.”
