Link Group has announced its acquisition of Syncsoft, a software vendor for APRA-regulated superannuation funds.

The acquisition will allow Link to expand from its current range of super funds, which outsource their superannuation administration, to include funds that perform administration internally via the Syncsoft platform.

Syncsoft’s Capital superannuation administration software and technology has been developed to automate and streamline administration processes for major superannuation funds. Some of the clients currently using the Capital software include the Western Australian public sector, UniSuper and Comsuper.

John McMurtrie, managing director of Link, said the acquisition would enable Link to expand its existing client base as it would allow Link to service all funds, including those that currently retain administration internally on platforms and technology owned by Link.

In addition to offering key administration services, Link will also offer a range of value-added services to funds, including analytics, financial advice, an integrated clearing house and a direct investment option available to fund members. Mr McMurtrie stated that by joining with Link, Syncsoft will be able to further develop its Capital offering by implementing Link services such as the effective management of large data, direct investment options and direct APRA reporting.
