Credit Suisse has been awarded top prize for its ultra high net worth (UHNW) offering, at the Australia Private Banking and Wealth Awards.

The financial service provider won the award for most outstanding institution for the third year in a row.

“The UHNW segment, which is key to Credit Suisse, is continuing to grow rapidly as the passive and active wealth of Australia expands and the market continues to mature,” Credit Suisse managing director (UHNW clients) Australia Shane Galligan said.

“This award follows recognition from numerous financial publications and institutions since we established onshore in Australia in 2007, which all ultimately recognise our relentless efforts to support our clients irrespective of market conditions.”

Over the last year, Credit Suisse said it has increased the number of relationships managed dedicated to the UHNW segment by 75 per cent, in line with a significant increase in assets under management from the sector.

Credit Suisse head of private banking Australia Edward Jewell-Tait said that the award recognised the company’s “uncompromised, advice-focused service”.

The Australian Private Banking and Wealth Awards are organised by business intelligence provider RFi and decided by a combination of more than 1,000 banking clients and a judging panel.
