AMP Capital Investors has appointed Karma Wilson as senior portfolio manager of Asian investments.

Based in Sydney, Wilson will work with the Asian investments team developing AMP Capital's pan-Asia capabilities. "With the award of our qualified foreign institutional investors licence from the Chinese Securities and Regulatory Commission, AMP Capital is the only Australian company with approval to invest in Chinese A shares and bonds", AMP Capital Investors director of Asian investments Kevin Talbot said. "We are currently developing product options to provide investors with access to this opportunity and Karma will play an important role in managing the investments for this product".

Wilson has 10 years' experience in funds management covering a range of global equity portfolios. Most recently she was employed by global boutique asset manager Five Oceans Asset Management where she had responsibility for investments in Asia and Japan. Previous roles include Goldman Sachs senior portfolio manager based consecutively in Hong Kong, Singapore and New York. She was responsible for Asian and United States investment portfolios and was a member of the international asset allocation committee. Wilson was also formerly in the Bankers Trust international equity team in Sydney covering Asian markets.
