In the newly created role, Mr Griffiths will be responsible for the global fixed interest and credit, short-term investments and the global emerging markets debt teams.

"Paul is a very experienced investment professional and is ideally suited to position our fixed interest, short-term investment and global emerging market debt capabilities for continued global growth," said chief executive officer, Mark Lazberger.

Mr Lazberger said Mr Griffiths will also contribute to CFSGAM's global business strategy. He will commence his role on July 1, according to CFSGAM.

Head of fixed interest and credit Tony Adams, head of short-term investments, Tony Togher and head of global emerging market debt, Helene Williamson will all report directly to Mr Griffiths.
