EISS chief executive to exit

EISS's chief executive will leave the fund at the end of June.

Energy Industries Superannuation Scheme (EISS) chief executive Richard Powis will step down from his role at the end of June.

Powis said he had always intended to stay only a year at the fund. 

"All I needed to do was to establish the secretariat, so it was always envisaged that it was a one-year contract," he said.

Before joining EISS, he was chief executive of FuturePlus, a position he held from February 2008 until May last year when EISS became the sole owner of FuturePlus.

 
 

He was also chief executive of energy company Integral Energy from 2000 until 2007.

Powis said he had no plans for a new role yet.

"I can actually retire. I'm over 60 so it is not something that I'm terribly worried about," he said.

EISS has not found a replacement for Powis and is recruiting for the position.
