UBS has announced a reshuffle in portfolio management roles as it completes the merger with INGIM.

Former ING Investment Management (INGIM) Australian property securities portfolio managers David Scott and Patrick Barrett have taken over responsibility for the management of the UBS Global Property Securities Fund, following the completion of UBS Global Asset Management's (UBSGAM) acquisition of INGIM.

Scott and Barrett will also assume responsibility for the broader Australian real estate investment trust research for UBSGAM and UBS Global Real Estate Securities.

UBS Property Securities Fund portfolio manager Jacov Males will move to the UBS Australian Share Fund and will take over portfolio management responsibilities from UBSGAM head of Australian equities Simon Shields.

Shields remains head of UBSGAM Australian equities and will also assume responsibility for the INGIM Australian equities funds.

UBSGAM real estate securities analyst Vinay Narsi, who was covering property securities, will take on broader industrials coverage.

On the fixed income side, UBSGAM Asia-Pacific head of fixed income Anne Anderson will assume additional responsibilities for the INGIM fixed income funds.

UBSGAM on Tuesday announced it had completed the acquisition of INGIM in Australia.

The integration of the businesses would continue through the first quarter of 2012, UBSGAM said in the statement.

During this time, INGIM's existing client portfolios would continue to be managed by its investment and support teams, the company said.

"The combined business will create an asset management business with a wider skill set, allowing us to expand and enhance our client offering to include investment options from both organisations," UBSGAM Australia and New Zealand head Ben Heap said.
