Towers Watson's latest appointment brings the Australian investment team to 35 members.

Global consultancy firm Towers Watson has appointed Brian Sparkes as investment analyst to the Australian investment team, where he will focus on equity research.

Sparkes joins from Genesys Wealth Advisors, where he worked as a research analyst.

"Brian's appointment once again demonstrates our commitment to building Australia's best-resourced independent investment research team," Towers Watson investment services director Graeme Miller said yesterday.

These appointments follow seven other recruits to the Australian team this year.

Internationally, the investment business has appointment over 50 associates during the past year, most recently Peter Lewis, a real estate investor, who joined this week to head the company's US real estate investment manager research team.

Globally, the Towers Watson investment business has over 650 associates and assets under advice of more than US$2.1 trillion.
