The FPA has appointed Clearview Retirement Solutions technical services manager Dante De Gori as policy and government relations general manager.
"The policy agenda for 2010 remains challenging. Dante is well equipped to lead the FPA through the implementation of the PJC (Parliamentary Joint Committee) recommendations, along with responses to the Henry and Cooper reviews," FPA chief executive Jo-Anne Bloch said.
De Gori brought with him a wealth of technical expertise and a deep understanding of financial planning and the FPA, Bloch said.
"Dante is well known to the financial planning community for his sound strategic advice, clear and plain English presentations, and his ability to address the legislative environment positively," she said.
De Gori has participated in numerous FPA committees, most recently as chair of the association's technical committee.
He was technical services manager of Clearview from 2007.
