Former BT head of super solutions Geoff Peck joins Russell Investments.

Russell Investments has appointed Geoff Peck as director of superannuation investments.

He will be responsible for the development and implementation of Russell's portfolio management services for large investment clients, Australian Client Portfolio Management.

"Geoff is well known within the superannuation industry as an innovative thinker and an enthusiastic advocate for clients," Russell managing director of superannuation business Linda Elkins said.

"He brings sound knowledge across a broad range of fields including investments, risk management, product management, member services and financial advice," Elkins said.

Peck spent 12 years at BT Financial Group, where in his last role he was head of superannuation solutions.

He oversaw the team responsible for providing superannuation solutions for all of BT and Westpac's superannuation and retirement products.

Peck left BT three years ago and wrote a self-help book on managing superannuation and meeting retirement needs, which is due to be published next month.

He has also been a non-executive director for the American International Assurance Company, a part of the embattled AIG Group, since March 2007.
