Research house van Eyk has appointed two executives and reshuffled its senior consultants.

Research house van Eyk has appointed two executives and reshuffled its senior consultants.

Former Hillross national business development manager Luke Fitzgerald has become van Eyk's third business development manager.

Fitzgerald will concentrate on growing the firm's fund-of-fund manager, Blueprint, which recently passed $1.5 billion in funds under management (FUM) following the launch of the $43.5 million van Eyk Blueprint Alternatives Plus Fund in December.

The Blueprint series grew 50 per cent in the past 12 months after reaching FUM of $1 billion in January.

Meanwhile, former Intech consultant Melissa Randall has been appointed as a senior asset consultant to work on van Eyk's key accounts and provide technical research and advice.

In addition to Intech, Randall has worked at BT Financial Group and Towers Perrin (now Russell Investment Group).

Her appointment follows an internal reshuffle where Marisa Hoffenberg was promoted to manager of the asset consulting unit after Peter Smith moved to van Eyk's new strategic research unit.

Smith will concentrate on releasing monthly reports on the industry, with a report on mobile alpha set for release at the end of February.
