Macquarie Private Wealth has added to its business and personal insurance services with the appointment of a new insurance specialist.

Formerly of AG Private Advisory, Craig Boss has joined Macquarie Private Wealth to provide insurance solutions for small business and high net worth investors.

Boss will focus on asset and income protection and life cover, and also look at ways insurance can affect estate planning and business succession.

Macquarie Private Wealth executive director and head of wealth management Jane Watts said on the back of the global financial crisis, personal investors were increasingly turning their attention to risk management strategies.

Watts said Boss brought with him strong relationships in the financial and accounting industry.

"Craig is a timely addition to our business. With his commitment to first-rate client service, we look forward to broadening our relationships and delivering a strong value proposition in this sector," she said.

Boss has experience in sales and operations in Australia and South Africa.

"Macquarie Private Wealth is recognised as a strong service provider in the market ... I look forward to working closely with both the team of financial advisers here and with personal investors to provide them with comprehensive risk solutions tailored to their needs," he said.
