The listed wealth management firm has hired an industry veteran to spearhead its growth.

Diversa has hired Vincent Parrott as head of funds management as the firm seeks to grow its investment business.

Parrott was co-founder of boutique firm Souls Funds Management. He left the firm in 2008. At that time, the business had around $1 billion in funds under management.

In 2009, Souls Funds Management was sold by its parent group Washington H Soul Pattinson to Treasury Group for less than $1 million.

Parrott has also worked for AMP, SBC (now known as UBS Global Asset Management), and BT Funds Management.

The hiring of Parrott follows the firm's second acquisition in the funds management sector, with Diversa announcing the purchase of Headland Global Investment Management.

"Vincent's experience working across the spectrum of established global players, as well as his time spent in the boutique investment sector, makes him ideally placed to help drive Diversa's goal to become a leading specialist wealth management business in Australia," Diversa managing director Stuart Korchinski said.

Last month, the firm finalised the acquisition of a 20 per cent stake in Australian equities manager Huon Capital.

Parrott will work with Huon Capital and Headland Global Investment Management. He will also help with the investment operation of Diversa managed superannuation funds.
