MetLife has restructured its business development teams as part of a strategy to boost its marketing efforts.

Global insurance firm MetLife has restructured its marketing and distribution team in Australia, resulting in five new teams and internal appointments.

The firm has appointed chief marketing and distribution officer Eric Reisenwitz to head the new team.

Reisenwitz was previously MetLife vice president of institutional insurance product marketing and has worked in the Sydney office since the beginning of this year.

"This new structure has been designed to capitalise on our ability to cross-sell products within the distribution channels, driving growth for our business," he said.

"We will also enhance our efforts to capitalise on our brand and global strength by centralising certain functions to create a more robust marketing organisation."

The new teams include product, reinsurance and pricing; marketing and distribution; institutional insurance distribution; direct insurance distribution; and Citi strategic partnership.

Richard Anderson has been appointed head of product, reinsurance and pricing. Anderson was previously head of institutional.

The firm has appointed Aaron Stokeld as head of institutional insurance distribution and Julian Carpenter will take on the job as head of direct insurance distribution in an expanded role.

Stokeld previously worked in the firm's institutional business development team.

Rosemary Kwan will take on the job as head of Citi strategic partnership, while Natalie Kitchen has moved to the job of head of marketing and communications.

Kwan was previously national marketing manager, while Kitchen was previously corporate affairs manager.
