The industry fund has established three separate teams to design insurance, investment and pension products.

AustralianSuper has established product development teams that will focus on the devleopment of products in the areas of insurance, investment and pensions.

Each team will be led by AustralianSuper general manager of product Noel Lacey. The teams will look at developing strategy, product design and pricing.

"The establishment of these teams followed a review of the management and functions of the fund," Lacey said.

"By focusing on developing products in the areas of insurance, investments and pensions we aim to bring greater value to our members."

AustralianSuper's product manager for insurance is Greg Staunton, the product manager for investments is Paul Souter while Diana Robb will be the product manager for pensions.

Lacey, Staunton, Souter and Robb were all previously employed by AustralianSuper. Lacey was AustralianSuper's general manager of insurance and corporate administration, Staunton was the fund's senior insurance manager and Robb and Souter previously worked in the marketing and communications department.

"We have made internal appointments to oversee these teams. All of these people are very competent and experienced individuals," Lacey said.

Lacey said the teams will look at developing the products internally but said the fund has a range of outsourced partners that may have some involvement with the products.

"We are now looking to develop a more coordinated approach in the pricing and delivery of our products," Lacey said.

AustralianSuper has over 1.4 million members and has about $28 billion in funds under management.
