The financial services firm signals growth plans while its head of fixed income departs the group.

Intech is looking at further opportunities in the platform market as part of its growth strategy.

Intech struck a deal with Suncorp Wealth Management in April to provide investment services to its platform.

"We will be looking at similar opportunities in the platform area. We have the experience and scale to deliver services to this market," Intech managing director Anthony Serhan said.

Intech has also strengthened its ties with US-based firm Ibbotson Associates. Intech general manager of investments Daniel Needham will join the investment committee of Ibbotson Associates.

Both companies are owned by Morningstar.

Serhan said the deal will allow each of the firms to share information and research, particularly in the area of asset allocation.

Intech will also look at the area of providing advice services in asset allocation.

"Under our partnership with Ibbotson we could bring more research on target date funds to the Australian market," Serhan said.

Intech head of fixed income and currency Andrew Korbel has also left the group.

"This was a mutual decision reflecting Andrew's desire to have a break with his family and to consider something new after 13 years with the firm," Serhan said.

Needham, who has worked closely with Korbel in managing the fixed interest capability over the past year, will continue to have overall responsibility for the area, Serhan said.

Needham will continue in this role until a replacement is found.
