Mercer boosts custody, operations

The global consultant adds two people to its team as it seeks to grow its custody and investment operations business.

Mercer Sentinel has boosted its operational and transactional services in the Asia Pacific region, hiring two people to its team.
 
Former AMP Life manager of investment operations Matthew Heeney has joined the group as senior consultant to provide advice on custody, transitions and investment operations.

Pushkar Thakur has been transferred from the Mercer retirement, risk and finance business to work with Mercer Sentinel, where he will provide advice on investment operations and transition management services.

The two appointments follow recent hirings by Mercer Sentinel. Nick McDonald was transferred from the firm's Sydney office to lead its Hong Kong business, while Ruth Pang Siock Hoon was also hired to work in the Singapore office.

"The experience and talent of our recent hires reinforces Mercer's ability to help clients mitigate a full range of operational risks around their custody, middle office outsourcing, transitions and compliance matters," Mercer Sentinel head Lounarda David said.

 
 

The firm has 10 consultants based in Sydney, two in Asia and a global team of 43. The firm provides advice to a number of institutional investors, including industry superannuation fund Sunsuper.
