The boutique fund manager has added a credit analyst to the business.

Kapstream has hired Raymond Lee as a credit analyst.

Lee previously worked for Hong Kong-based hedge fund group DB Zwirn as a credit associate. In the job he focused on analysing and sourcing investment opportunities in credit and distressed debt assets.

He has also worked at Goldman Sachs as a credit analyst.

"We feel that Raymond will be a great addition to the team. He has a vast knowledge in credit and his skill set will complement our growing capabilities in the credit space," Kapstream director Nick Maroutsos said.

Kapstream was established in October 2006 by former Pimco bond manager Kumar Palghat. Since that time, the firm has grown to seven people including Lee.

The firm has garnered $600 million in funds under management and Maroutsos expects that to grow to $1 billion by the end of August.

Kapstream recently secured mandates from industry funds Asset Super, the Energy Industries Superannuation Scheme of NSW and Auscoal.
