Trust fund CoInvest has diversified its portfolio into global listed property.

Trust fund CoInvest has diversified its portfolio into global listed property.

The trust has invested $15 million each in Perennial's Global Listed Property Fund and the Deutsche Bank Rreef Trust.

"We have been looking at global property for 12 months. We found it was interesting and could provide us with some good investment opportunities, particularly in the listed sector," CoInvest manager of investments Neil Forrest said.

"Australian investors are recognising that significant wealth creation over the longer term will come from broad global mandates in listed property securities and no longer just domestic portfolios."

"The sector's low correlation to other asset classes, as well as its growth and income components, make it particularly suitable to a retiring population as well as their investment providers," Perennial Real Estate Investments managing director Stephen Hayes said.

The trust, which has $500 million in funds under management, was advised by asset consultant Watson Wyatt.

CoInvest is the trustee for the Construction Industry Long Service Leave Fund.
