BT Financial Group deputy head of Australian equities Troy Angus has stepped down.

BT Financial Group deputy head of Australian equities Troy Angus has stepped down.

Angus is set to join another fund manager, which has yet to be named.

He was portfolio head for the BT Imputation Fund and BT Ethical Share Fund.

BT chief investment officer Dirk Morris said BT had processes in place to manage the transition of staff within its investment management team to ensure portfolio stability.

"Crispin Murray, BT's head of equity strategies, will continue to lead the management of BT's Australian equities portfolios with support from BT's extensive Australian equities team of analysts and portfolio managers," Morris said.

Commenting on Angus' departure, Morningstar analyst Tim Murphy said: "While the loss of Troy Angus is a blow, BT has a highly capable leader who we feel will be able to adequately handle the increased responsibility of the ethical and imputation strategies.

"We will, however, be keenly interested in who BT selects to fill the gap."
