Former super fund chief resurfaces in new job with fund manager

Former AvSuper chief Denis Carroll has joined boutique fund manager Pengana Capital (Pengana) as an institutional business consultant.

In his new job, Carroll will work with Pengana's head of alternative strategies distribution Damien Hatfield to develop business and product opportunities for the manager.

Carroll was with AvSuper for 15 years and for the past two years worked as a director with investment manager Ixis Asset Management.

Pengana also hired Stephanie Fisher to the job as portfolio manager. Fisher will work with the Pengana Property Securities Fund team.

Fisher was previously director of investor relations with the Australian Stock Exchange listed Reckson New York Property Trust.

She has also worked for three years as a property securities portfolio manager with Glebe Asset Management and has spent five years as a senior property analyst with Macquarie Equities.

"Both Denis and Stephanie have a track record of outperformance and delivering exceptional results to clients, and we are confident they will be an asset to our growing team," Pengana chief executive Russel Pillemer said.

Pengana now manages $1.6 billion in funds under management since it began in 2003.
