Due to rising interest Macquarie Practice Consulting has added to its team.

Macquarie Adviser Services has expanded its practice consulting business in response to growing demand.

Reporting to head of Macquarie Practice Consulting Liz McCarthy, Fiona Mackenzie will take up the position of senior practice consultant with Macquarie Practice Consulting.

Mackenzie will help financial planning firms develop their value proposition and help improve profitability.

Prior to her appointment, Mackenzie was a business consultant at Shirlaws and head of marketing and product development at Bridges Financial Services. She also spent eight years at Macquarie in marketing, product and business development.

McCarthy said this appointment was part of future growth plans for the six-month old business.

"Since the launch of the business last year, we've experienced significant interest from financial planners who are looking for specialist knowledge to help grow their practices," McCarthy said.

"Given the size of these businesses, many do not have the necessary internal resources to focus on specific areas that need attention, so we assist by providing them with access to Macquarie's specialists."

Macquarie Practice Consulting was launched in May 2009 and provides customised consultancy services to boutique financial planning firms in three core areas - human resources, back office efficiency and marketing.
