Super fund winners announced

In tough times SuperRatings fund awards remind us there are still achievements taking place in the industry.

There were some familiar names as the annual SuperRatings awards were handed out at the Conference of Major Superannuation Funds yesterday.

SuperRatings managing director Jeff Bresnahan presented the SuperRatings Eligible Rollover Fund (ERF) of the Year Award to last year's winner Ausfund.

When handing out the award, Bresnahan said he would like to see reform in the ERF sector.

"Performance and fee wise they're not delivering. But Ausfund is the one that consistently does good by consumers," Bresnahan said.

 
 

For the second year running the Australian Ethical Retail Superannuation Fund won the SuperRatings Infinity Award for its commitment to climate change and sustainability issues.

Ten funds including HESTA, UniSuper and Vision Super were deemed eligible for this award.

"In times like this it is easy to forget what funds are doing for members, so these awards are testament to that," Bresnahan said.

Sunsuper Pension Options was named the SuperRatings Pension Fund of the Year.

Sunsuper chief executive Tony Lally said he was honoured to receive the award.

"We have a big job to migrate members from their working lives to their retirement and we want to increase our market share," Lally said.
