AMP Capital has appointed two new members to its New York-based infrastructure equity team.

Michael Hamilton and Andrew Kirby have joined AMP Capital’s infrastructure equity team based in New York.

“Michael Hamilton has been appointed investment director and will focus on sourcing deals and managing assets owned by AMP Capital in the Americas region,” a statement from AMP Capital said.

“Andrew Kirby has been appointed senior associate and will focus on transaction support and execution activities,” AMP Capital said.

Prior to joining AMP Capital in December 2014, Mr Hamilton was the managing member of Blue Wave Capital Partners.

Mr Hamilton has also held roles with RBC Capital Markets and Hastings Funds Management.

Before joining AMP Capital in November Mr Kirby was an associate at Rothschild in the mergers and acquisitions division focusing on infrastructure transaction in North America and across Europe.

AMP Capital also said it has recently added new capabilities to its global infrastructure platform following demand from institutional investors who want to take advantage of the opportunities driven by the global need for infrastructure.

“The new-look platform now gives a broader range of investors around the world a unique opportunity to tap into an asset class that is going from strength to strength due to increasing investor appetite and a compelling deal pipeline,” AMP Capital head of Americas, infrastructure equity, Dylan Foo said.

“The mandate for the global infrastructure platform going forward is to invest, on behalf of our clients, in additional assets in OECD countries in sectors such as utilities, transport and communications and these appointments will help us deliver on that mandate,” he said.
