Paul Lindwall will join the inquiry to look into “one of the key economic challenges facing Australia and other countries around the world”, said Mr Hockey.
“Mr Lindwall has a strong background in public policy analysis in the Productivity Commission, international agencies and in government departments, including working as a consultant to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development,” the Treasurer said.
Mr Lindwall has been appointed until the end of the six-month inquiry, which has been tasked with reducing barriers to private sector financing of infrastructure and reducing infrastructure construction costs, according to the Productivity Commission website.
On November 13, Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced that the Productivity Commission will hold public hearings and release a draft report in March 2014.
The final report will be released within the next six months.
