UBS Global Asset Management has appointed Bryce Doherty as the new head of its Australasian division, replacing Ben Heap.

Mr Heap, who has been in the position for three years, is “standing down” after the successful acquisition and integration of the ING Investment Management (Australia) business in 2011, according to a UBS statement.

Mr Doherty was previously head of wholesale for Australasia and has been at UBS since May 2011.

Alistair Dunne will step into the vacated head of wholesale position.

UBS has also announced the appointment of Anne Flockhart, who is head of institutional sales, to the UBS Global Asset Management Australia board.

Commenting on the management changes, UBS head of Asia Pacific Kai Sotorp said the company continued to see strong growth opportunities in Australia.

“Bryce and Anne's knowledge of the investment management industry, combined with their strong wholesale and institutional client relationships, will enable us to build on our momentum and expand our capabilities in this key market,” Mr Sotorp said.
