SMSF Adviser is the latest addition to the publisher’s suite of wealth products, which include InvestorDaily, InvestorWeekly and ifa

This sector now accounts for over 500,000 funds, representing more than 950,000 members and one third of the $1.5 trillion in superannuation monies.

According to Sterling Publishing’s group publisher, Alex Whitlock, the SMSF sector is one of the fastest growing areas in financial services, and will continue to be so, given the growing trend for Australians to take control of their super.

“This is one of the most exciting opportunities I’ve seen for some time in publishing and we’re putting our weight firmly behind publishing within this sector,” he said.

“While the essence of an SMSF is ‘do it yourself’ super, the reality is there are a raft of professionals servicing the needs of trustees. The industry’s specialists – including financial planners and advisers, accountants, lawyers, auditors and property advice specialists – are the target readership for the new online resource as well as the magazine when launched in July.

“With SMSF Adviser, these professionals now have access to a focused resource for daily news, analysis, opinion and interpretation of the key issues, legislation and challenges that are influencing the development of the SMSF advice sector,” he said.

Sterling Publishing will leverage its already strong audiences and products across the mortgage, property, real estate and financial services sectors to support the growth of the new title.

“With our established brands and titles in associated areas, we’re in a unique position to launch this new title and expect rapid take-up across both readership and advertising investment,” Mr Whitlock said.
