The Financial Services Council board has elected Craig Meller as a deputy chairman.

The Financial Services Council (FSC) board has elected AMP Financial Services managing director Craig Meller as a deputy chairman.

Meller will work alongside Schroder Investment Management Australia chief executive Greg Cooper, who is also an FSC deputy chair.

"In his five [plus] years on the board, Craig has brought his extensive financial services industry experience to bear in the formation of industry policy and leadership," FSC chairman and Macquarie Bank banking and financial services group head Peter Maher said.

As a result of ex-Colonial First State chief executive Brian Bissaker's departure, the FSC board has also appointed Commonwealth Bank of Australia group executive of wealth management Annabel Spring as an FSC director.
