WHK Group's head of financial services will now also oversee Prescott Securities after structural changes within the firm.

WHK Group (WHK) has expanded the role of its new head of financial services, John Nantes following structural changes within the company's insurance and lending divisions.

"John Nantes is head of financial services, which also picks up Prescott Securities," a WHK spokesperson told InvestorDaily.

"This is actually an even broader role."

Nantes has been with the listed financial services group for three years and immediately stepped into advice role on May 11, after WHK's former head of financial services John Cowan departed for SFG Australia.

"John Nantes was a natural successor to John Cowan and we have had a very smooth transition as they had been working closely together over the past six months," the spokesperson said.

Prescott Securities, a wholly-owned subsidiary of WHK, was not previously a responsibility when Cowan was with the group.

Meanwhile, WHK has made additional structural changes naming its head of financial planning for the Western Victorian region, Terry Lingard, as group head of lending and general insurance across the business.

"As one of the few left that are in the clear advisory space and not product-aligned, we're keen to [make more announcements]."

Last month, SFG Australia announced it had hired Cowan to its executive management team.

Cowan now has the responsibility for the group's portfolio administration business alongside the Cortex Best Advice team to develop and deliver product and service initiatives to clients of SFG's advice businesses.

His other main responsibility will be to source and execute the group's "bolt-on and tuck-in acquisitions".
