The managing director of Centrepoint Wealth, Grahame Evans, will depart the firm.

Grahame Evans will step down from his senior management duties with Centrepoint Wealth.

Centrepoint managing director Tony Robinson told InvestorDaily Evans would depart the company and his roles as group managing director and Centrepoint board member in early June.

"Graham is stepping down from his roles from within the group," Robinson said late yesterday.

Evans's departure from the listed financial services firm was made "by agreement" and flowed from changes within the business, he said.

"Grahame has been a strong contributor. His counsel, resilience and insight will be difficult to replace," he said.

Asked whether his departure was linked to troubles within the company's advice division, including its enforceable undertaking (EU) with ASIC, Robinson said it was not.

The vacant position within Centrepoint Wealth, formerly Professional Investment Services (PIS), will not be filled immediately.

"In the immediate future all his direct reports will report to me," Robinson said.

Evans will leave Centrepoint Wealth/PIS after more than a decade.

Robinson said Evans had helped steer the company in "difficult times", made a great contribution to all parts of the business and he wished him the "best in his endeavours".

Evans will depart the firm on 8 June.

In December 2010, PIS entered into an EU with ASIC following concerns over the firm's compliance with industry laws.

The corporate regulator said PIS entered into the undertaking because of ASIC concerns it might have failed to comply with its obligations as an Australian financial services licence holder based on the results of surveillance by the regulator.
