Industry superannuation fund Energy Super has appointed Scott Wilson and Mark Williamson to its board, while four directors have completed serving their terms.
Winston Hughes, Walter Threlfall, Wayne Price and Sarah Israel have all left the energy industry fund.
Energy Super chairman Bob Henricks said the board changes were in line with its restructure to enhance governance through new ideas while retaining expertise.
"The board was reduced from a larger number because we had amalgamated ESI Super and SPEC Super together and had 12 directors as a result of that. So we were looking to reduce to 10 ... and have new directors come on board," Henricks said.
"It's not really a result of any legislation but we are very conscious of [it]. With that in mind, I felt there was an opportunity to bring some new blood in."
In 2014, the board will be reduced to eight directors.
"The intention is, in two to three years' time, to reduce the board further to make it more manageable. That's all subject to further amalgamations or mergers, which are always on the cards," Henricks said.
Wilson has served as an Electrical Trades Union State Council member and is currently a Future Skills training officer. He also chairs the Queensland Electrotechnology Steering Committee and is a board member of the Welfare Rights Centre and Electrogroup Apprenticeships and Training.
Williamson brings previous board experience from CS Energy, Stanwell Corporation, Brisbane Marketing, the Starlight Children's Foundation in Queensland and Mackay Port Authority.
