Ibbotson Associates Australia (Ibbotson) has hired Matthew Esler as head of adviser services.
In his new role, the former Midwinter Financial Services executive director, strategy and technical services will be responsible for managing Ibbotson's relationships with financial advice practices and dealer groups
He will report to Ibbotson general manager investment services Chris Galloway.
"He has extensive experience and background in the industry and, in particular, has a deep understanding of the needs of advisers, and it's great to have someone of his calibre on board," Ibbotson managing director Daniel Needham said.
Despite leaving Midwinter, Esler will remain a non-executive director.
While at Midwinter, he was responsible for providing technical and strategic advice to dealer groups and financial advice practices on superannuation, taxation, investment, insurance, social security, and legislative issues.
Prior to this role, Esler was head of technical for Advance Asset Management. He has also held the role of technical manager for Zurich Financial Services Australia.
