Centric Wealth is close to filling its chief executive position left vacant by John McMurdo.

The executive team of Centric Wealth (Centric) has finalised a shortlist of candidates to fill its chief executive role.

The dealer group has undertaken an extensive search for a new chief since the sudden departure of John McMurdo in July.

It is understood the shortlist of candidates will meet with key business heads within Centric in the coming weeks.

The number of candidates was not available by InvestorDaily's deadline.

It is also believed the Centric board will change the reporting lines for its key business divisions, financial planning and risk insurance.

In line with the change, Centric head of risk insurance and corporate benefits Jon Pillemer and Centric head of financial planning Greg Dunger will join the company board.

A spokesperson for the group said Centric has continued to meet all its company objectives even with the leadership disruption and tough markets.

In August this year, former Centric chief McMurdo and the company's chief financial officer quit the group with immediate effect. The exact reason behind the departures is unknown.
