AUI has expanded its property fund team with three new members.

Three of Investa Funds' long-term staff will join Australian Unity Investments (AUI) following AUI's takeover of Investa Funds Management's retail property funds.

Mark Lumby, Grant Nichols and Simon Beake will move to AUI's property funds business to ensure continuity for investors.

Lumby, previously retail funds general manager at Investa, will move into AUI's new role of head of office and industrial property funds.

His 18 years in funds management include Stockland and Trafalgar Corporate Group, where he helped establish and manage Australia's first geared property security fund.

Nichols, previously a fund manager at Investa, will become a property portfolio manager at AUI.

He was with the then-listed AMP Office Trust, followed by almost eight years with Investa as an asset manager and later fund manager.

Beake, formerly Investa fund analyst, will become a senior analyst at AUI.

He worked as an accountant and analyst for Biwater Group and Cascal Services, involving analysis, financial modelling and arranging acquisition finance.
