Three new board members have been chosen to join the FPA board.

The results of the 2010 FPA board elections have been finalised, with three new members of the board to be appointed at the professional body's annual general meeting (AGM) to be held in November.

The new directors are Neil Kendall, Peter O'Toole, and Julie Matheson, all of whom are certified financial planner practitioners.

The three new appointees were chosen from a field of 23 candidates who all stood for election.

"The board represents the voice of our members so we are excited that these three experienced practitioner members were elected," FPA chair Julie Berry said.

"I'd like to thank all 23 candidates for standing and congratulate Neil, Peter and Julie on their successful election. They will each bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the board," she said.

As the three new directors join the board, Martin McIntosh will be stepping down. McIntosh stood in as an appointed director earlier this year to replace Rob Peterson.

The AGM will not only mark the commencement of Kendall, O'Toole and Matheson's tenure on the board, it will also end Berry's time as FPA chair.

At that time she will be replaced by Matthew Rowe.

"The FPA is committed to the continued improvement and development of the association and our profession generally," Berry said.
