S&P hires two

S&P has beefed up its research team with two new associates.

Standard & Poor's Fund Services (S&P) has grown to 27 with the appointment of two new analysts to its team.

Reporting to sector head Rodney Lay, John Huynh joins after seven years at IOOF Investment Management and will be primarily responsible for equities.

At IOOF, Huynh was most recently a senior research analyst responsible for multi-manager products covering a range of asset classes, including Australian equities and fixed income.

John Patton will report to sector head Michael Armitage and will concentrate on alternatives. Patton joins S&P from a consulting role. He previously worked for Macquarie Bank in the structured and specialist investments division of Macquarie Funds Group.

S&P now has 27 staff, including 17 fund analysts with an average financial markets experience of 13 years.

"We are pleased to secure the services of these two talented individuals from the asset management industry to boost our skills and capacity in critical growth asset classes. They join a large specialist research house," S&P head of research Leanne Milton said.
