Standard & Poor's Fund Services (S&P) has put the five-star-rated AMP Capital Global Property Securities Fund on hold due to a key staff departure.

AMP provided notification that its global portfolio manager for Europe, Brett Ward, would be leaving the company due to his desire to return to Australia permanently.

"He is the longest serving and most experienced of the three global portfolio managers, and was important in establishing the European research team and integrating the global capability," S&P fund analyst Kelly Napier said.

According to S&P, Ward would not be replaced, while Jason Baine, the global portfolio manager for North America, would absorb responsibility for the European business.
