Bankwest appoints new advice head

Commonwealth Bank of Australia's Bankwest Financial Advice unit has appointed Cassandra Hinze as its new head.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia's (CBA) Bankwest (BW) Financial Advice unit has appointed Cassandra Hinze as its new head, reporting directly to Colonial First State advice business general manager Paul Barrett.

Hinze was previously at Macquarie Group and will start her new job next month.

"Cassandra has got extensive experience in financial planning including as a financial planner," Barrett told InvestorDaily.

"She has also run teams of financial planners . so she is vastly experienced and we are glad to have been able to catch someone as high calibre as Cassandra and we are looking forward to building our financial planning business."

Andrew Rasby, the previous head of BW Financial Advice, had moved on to run the Bankwest Private Bank unit, Barrett said.

BW Financial Advice has around 35 advisers.

CBA acquired Bankwest for $2.1 billion in October 2008.
